Las turbinas extraen la energ\u00eda cin\u00e9tica del aire que sopla y \nconvierten el movimiento de rotaci\u00f3n a trav\u00e9s de un rotor en electricidad, que luego se transmite a la red \nel\u00e9ctrica para su consumo. Hoy en d\u00eda, las palas de los aerogeneradores se fabrican con epoxi reforzado \ncon fibras o poli\u00e9ster insaturado. En los \u00faltimos tiempos, las turbinas tambi\u00e9n se han desarrollado para \nflotar en el mar, en lugar de s\u00f3lo en tierra, reduciendo as\u00ed el impacto visual de tales instalaciones.<\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Los proyectos de energ\u00eda e\u00f3lica producen un 95% menos de CO2 que la electricidad a partir de gas y un\n98% menos de CO2 que la electricidad a partir de carb\u00f3n. La turbina e\u00f3lica moderna convierte entre el 45 y\nel 50% de su entrada en electricidad. Las centrales el\u00e9ctricas de carb\u00f3n generalmente convierten entre el 29\ny el 37 % de su consumo.
