Il riscaldamento globale\ne il continuo sviluppo nelle aree soggette a\ninondazioni aumenteranno progressivamente il\nrischio di alluvioni fluviali. I danni diretti da\ninondazioni potrebbero arrivare a sei volte le\nperdite attuali entro la fine del secolo in caso di\nmancata mitigazione e adattamento del clima.\nMantenere il riscaldamento globale ben al di\nsotto dei 2 \u00b0C dimezzerebbe questi impatti.\nAdeguate strategie di adattamento possono\nulteriormente ridurre in modo sostanziale gli\nimpatti futuri delle inondazioni.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vc_row wpb_row vc_row-fluid art-descr\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-12\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element\" >\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Descrizione<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Circa un terzo della popolazione dell'UE vive entro 50 km dalla costa. I livelli massini del mare in Europa\npotrebbero aumentare di un metro o pi\u00f9 entro la fine di questo secolo. Senza misure di mitigazione e\nadattamento, i danni annuali causati dalle inondazioni costiere nell'UE potrebbero aumentare\nnotevolmente, passando da 1,4 miliardi di euro attuali a quasi 240 miliardi di euro entro il 2100. Circa il\n95% di questi impatti potrebbe essere evitato grazie a una mitigazione moderata e innalzando dighe dove\nesistono insediamenti umani e aree economicamente importanti lungo la costa.<\/p>\n<p>Ogni anno circa 100.000\npersone nell'UE sono esposte alle inondazioni costiere.
